New Study Release: Mourning into Dancing: We Do Not Grieve as Those Without Hope
Leader: We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
All: Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
From the book of the prophet Isaiah
We had all gone astray like sheep, all following our own way; but the Lord laid upon him the guilt of us all. Though harshly treated, he submitted and did not open his mouth; like a lamb led to slaughter or a sheep silent before shearers, he did not open his mouth (Is 53:6-7).
Reflection
Jesus falls a third time under the weight of the cross. Maybe life seemed heavy at times for St. Joseph. Maybe he did not understand everything that was happening in his life. In the temple, after being lost for three days, Jesus tells his parents he must be about his Father’s business. Jesus was lost; Joseph, seeking to understand. St. Joseph had a lifetime to understand the mysteries of the kingdom.
Dear St. Joseph, pray for us, that we may gain wisdom and understanding of the divine mysteries.
Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be...
